New Orbit
New Orbit is developing the first and only satellite technology designed to operate in ultra-low Earth orbit (ULEO), just 180km above the planet’s surface.
The company’s ambition is bold: make ultra-low orbit the new normal and unlock transformative opportunities for industries on Earth. To achieve that, they needed more than a technical story. They needed a brand that could inspire belief in a new frontier that’s closer than ever before.
Manual positioned New Orbit as a new breed of pioneer in aerospace, with a narrative centered not on complex technical specifications but on real-world impact. Its tone of voice mirrors its technology: clear, confident, and forward-looking. It speaks not just of what the technology is, but what it unlocks for people and industries on Earth.
The visual identity draws from the same core principle that powers New Orbit’s technology: ion propulsion. The logo references the movement of charged particles that propel satellites through orbit, while the custom slab semi-mono logotype nods to the language of engineering and technical schematics. A vibrant red anchors the palette, echoing the color of ion propulsion at peak performance—bringing energy and intensity to an otherwise cool, technical system.
Alongside the identity, Manual developed the names for New Orbit’s core technologies: AURA, the proprietary thruster system, and NEO-1, the company’s first satellite platform.
