Port of Mokha produces some of the world's most highly rated and exclusive coffees from Yemen, available through select specialty roasters worldwide, at auction, and direct to consumer. They provide Yemen's ancient coffee to the world by empowering farmers with the knowledge and tools to improve the quality of their coffees and lives.
Their coffee has consistently been the highest scoring coffee on any cupping table, even when it’s shared with the world’s most expensive and award-winning coffees. Some have said it's the best coffee the world has ever seen.
Manual worked with the founder to craft a brand identity and packaging experience that was as special as the story behind the coffee.
The logo references the unique story of the founder who made international news in 2015 when he escaped war-torn Yemen in a small fishing boat and crossed the Red Sea with his rare coffee samples which went on to win awards.
Port of Mokha has worked extensively for years with local Yemen farmers to educate them, improve their farming methods, organize collectives, promote gender equity, and support local economies with microloans. Their goal is to elevate farmers' quality of life by bringing the most elevated coffees to the world.
Starting in the 16th century, Yemen was the premier and exclusive coffee supplier of the entire world. All coffee shipped out of the region was via the Port of Mokha on the Red Sea. Yemen’s unique microclimate and high elevation produces drought-resistant plants that yield complex coffees with sweet fruit flavors.
The Yemen Trilogy box set is the most premium of their product offerings, featuring coffee from three villages at the highest elevations.
