Ingredients is a visual exploration of 75 Additives & 25 Food Products that bring food labels to life in a new way. Created by Photographer Dwight Eschliman, with author Steve Ettlinger, Ingredients is an unprecedented visual exploration of what is really inside our food, and sets the record straight on the controversial and fascinating science of chemical and synthetic additives in processed food.
The first part of the book aims to demystify what common processed additives really look like and what they do, with the second part of the book deconstructing common household foods through a compelling grid of ingredient photographs.
The content and design of the book bridge the intersection of photography, science, and food. While Dwight and Steve were challenged with making predominantly white powders and clear liquids appear interesting, we were tasked with the challenge of trying to fuse together food science with art.
