New Client: The Glasgow Distillery


Manual is delighted to be working with a new distillery in Scotland. Currently in development for a 2015 opening, The Glasgow Distillery will be a cultural destination featuring the city’s only single malt whisky distillery, the first in over a hundred years, and an immersive educational experience that celebrates the history of Scotland’s national drink.

The site is located in the Old Pump House along the banks of the river Clyde in the heart of Glasgow’s historic dockland. In the past, this building controlled the entry gate into the Queen’s dock, ensuring Customs and Excise officers could keep a close eye on goods going in and out, including Scotch whisky

The project is in development by a group of industry experts led by Tim Morrison, formerly of Morrison Bowmore Distillers and founder of the AD Rattray Scottish Whisky Company. Mr Morrison said: “We see this project as having huge potential – not only for Glasgow but for the tourism industry, the whisky trade and the whole Scottish economy.
